Best Practices

One of the CULC/CBUC Strategic Goals is to share more and to model best practice.  There is a collection of policies and responses to member questions and surveys in the Member Only Area of the site.  

CEO MODEL CONTRACT

CULC/CBUC in 2011 began assembling a model CEO Contract.  The members contributed their contracts and they have been compared side-by-side with the eye to developing a model contract for CEO-Candidates and hiring boards to use.  This work is ongoing.  Members have access to the comparisons in the Member Only Area / Policy Database.  Contact the ED if your password is not working.  

CORE COMPETENCIES

CULC/CBUC is working with Ken Haycock and Associates on Core Competencies for Urban Public Libraries.  The goal of this work is to not only identify the core competencies, but to identify the courses and where they are offered that can support those competencies.  The work will be presented to members at their November 2011 meeting in Surrey, BC.  

SALARY SURVEY 2011

CULC/CBUC is going to be revising their 2007 Salary Survey for a number of positions within the urban public library.  A report on the trends will be made public.  The work is expected to be completed in 2011.
